Description of Action |
|
The City of Dania Beach wishes to establish a Merchant Account agreement with the City’s banking provider, Wells Fargo, that will permit the use of credit / debit cards. Initially, the Administration plans to offer the use of merchant cards at the new City Pier facility. Subsequent plans call for use at the new Parking Garage facility and at our Beach Parking meters. As the new ERP system becomes implemented this fall, merchant cards are planned for City Parks, City Hall Customer Service and also for on-line City service payments. |

Fiscal Impact/Cost Summary |
|
The City’s acceptance of Merchant Cards is estimated to cost approximately 2% of transaction revenues. The administration believes this cost is justified and acceptable as it will improve customer service payment options and convenience. The use of merchant cards will also decrease the City’s volume of cash and check payment processing. |
